Integral Skin Foam (view products)

Genuine Integral Skin Foams have a thick durable skin, with a resilient cellular core. This is a one step process; the skin is formed in the molding process by the use of compatible blowing agents that have a very low boiling point. CFC's have always been the choice blowing agent because it was easy to use, has low toxicity, is not flammable and does not interfere with the reaction of the Polyurethane.

Consumers should be made aware that Countries that are not a member of the G7 Nations use enormous amounts of Ozone depleting materials (CFC's) everyday to manufacture Integral Skin Foams for Worldwide export. The Ozone depleting materials that they use today can take up to 10 years to fully impact the Earth's Ozone.

Talmolder uses Pentane as an alternate to Ozone depleting chemicals. We were the first to use Pentane as a blowing agent in Canada and the USA and have a Patent on our processing techniques.

Pentane allows us to produce quality parts that feel soft like Gel, or hard as a car tire with the added durability of having a thick skin through a one step manufacturing process.

Densities can range from 8 Pounds per Cubic Foot (PCF) on up and can have softness as low as 23, or as hard as 100 Durometer on the "A" scale. Our Integral-Skin Foams are available in any color, with U.V. stabilizers and Aniti-Bacterial additives if required.

Various substrates or inserts may be molded into the part as a desired feature. This may include Velcro, T-nuts, Pins, Rods, Bushings and washers. We can totally encase these inserts, or have portions exposed at the surface. Almost any type of material can be molded into the finished product, metal, wood, plastics and other recycled materials. Molding the inserts in might be for the purpose of attachment points onto final assembled product, or for other mechanical functioning, or aesthetics.

Some uses for Integral Skin Foam include Office Furniture applications as Arm Pads for Chairs, Desk Drawer Fronts and Keyboard Trays. Automotive, Bus, and Recreational Vehicle uses include Steering Wheels, Stick Shift Knobs, Windshield Seals, Bumpers, Finishing Trims, Headrests, and Protective Padding on areas where a person might accidentally crash or bump into. An example, restraint lap bars or shoulder harnesses in Amusement Park Rides. We have also developed together with Sound Fusion™ a patented sound deadening pad for audio and video systems.

Equiwall.  The Equine wall protection for Barns, Horse Stalls and Trailers
Give them the proper care …

Equiwall is a plank of polyurethane material with high resistance capabilities ideal for barns, horse stalls and trailers.
Talmolder Inc. offers a product that is high resilience integral skin polyurethane foam (IS) in panels’ size is 2 x 6 ft, easy to install, washable and non-toxic to the skin reaction. It is environmentally friendly and CFC free foam.
We are able to offer a variety of colors and material consistency.

Equiwall properties.

  • Highly resistant against acid, alkaline solutions and moisture.
  • Can easily be washed or disinfected
  • Very good noise absorption qualities.
  • Very low thermal conductivities.
  • No heavy metal elements or AZO colors.

Equiwall reduces the level of noise vibrations, and provides horses a more comfortable area of living. During cold weather, Equiwall will offer better insulation reducing draft and contact with frozen walls.  On trailers, it also helps to diminish animal stress during transportation and mitigate impacts due to road bumps and continued stops that will put stress on legs and foots when the animal tries to keep balance.
Horses are gentle but when frightened they feel threatened and they will be unpredictable.

Horse breeders, polo players, equestrian competitors, horse riders will find this product very useful to keep their beloved horses in excellent physical shape and minimize potential injuries and trauma in their life. Handlers will be able to handle a more relaxed horse during exhibitions and able to obtain a maximum performance during competitions.

Flexible Foams (view products)

Our Molded Flexible Foams or "High Resiliency Foam" (HR) are typically used as seat and back cushions. Applications include Office Furniture, Airport Seating, Automotive, Train, and Bus seating. Recreational Vehicles as in Snowmobiles, Jet Ski's or ATV's also benefit from Molded Flexible foams. These are good examples where having inserts or frames molded into the parts simplify assembly of the whole finished product.

Repeatability with shapes and consistency of Molded HR Foams are far superior to other methods of cutting and gluing. Our Molded HR Foams are engineered to be comfortable with the ability to withstand many hours of continuous use without losing any noticeable load bearing capabilities, or original shape and dimensions.

Visco-Elastic Foam (view products)

Flexible Foams can be as soft as a pillow, or firm and supportive as in Snowmobile Seats. There are many variations in Molded Flexible Foams. One interesting variation is Visco-elastic or "Memory Foam" which it is commonly known as. As force is applied to it, the Memory Foam slowly contours to the shape and provides even pressure.

When used for seating applications or other supportive padding, pressure points to the body are greatly reduced or eliminated. There has been quite a bit of interest for applications in the Health Care Market. Much research and testing would support the claims of specialist in the medical profession that this foam can be an aid to people who suffer from various ailments.

Rigid Foam (view products)

Rigid foams have made their way into construction applications instead of other more expensive materials like wood, steel, concrete, or plaster. It might be for structural or decorative purposes. One advantage is that it can be molded into almost any shape and can be combined with other materials to create a unique product. Another advantage over wood is that rigid foam is not affected by water or moisture, does not shrink or warp and is insect proof. Where millwork is required for a complex wood molding, the costs associated with this can make it impractical to use. Rigid foam can be used as a more affordable alternate and can be painted, nailed, cut and glued like wood or made to look exactly like wood.

Other applications in construction are Columns, Balusters, Pediments, Ceiling details, Cornices, Curved moldings, etc, All of these can easily be molded out of relatively inexpensive Tooling which is offset by the savings of higher cost materials and the necessary labor required to achieve intricate designs and details.

Rigid foams can be reinforced with materials like fiberglass or carbon fibers, to produce a very strong, lightweight product comparable or superior to hardwoods. Some well-known products are Hockey sticks, Skateboards, Snow skis, and Water skis.

Other applications are used for store fixtures to hold and display items like clothing or jewelry. Examples are "hands" for rings, heads for hats or wigs, and life size mannequins to display clothing.

One specialized area of use we have developed is to manufacture entire loudspeaker cabinets with all the mounting hardware molded into the product. We supplied these cabinets pre finished using a one step process. This significantly reduced the total labor required to assemble the speakers and electronics by our customer. The cabinets are durable, and have become quite popular to many musicians because they are lightweight. Having to frequently set up at clubs or venues themselves, these musicians are quite appreciative that the weight is almost half of a comparable wood loud speaker.
